Mountain Bike Class




I just wrapped up my 3 week Intro to Mountain Biking Course, and it was a blast!

I had the privilege to coach three young ladies, that are eager to begin their adventures exploring and hitting the trails on their bikes.


My goals for the course included basic techniques and skills to get them started safely with the tools to get on the trail and develop over the miles.


  1. Tire Pressure

    1. the difference between a great ride, or a not so great ride

    2. the choices for terrain and why

  2. Sand

    1. sand is a given here in my area, and knowing how to safely maneauver through is a basic must

  3. Finding the line

    1. focusing on reading the line, navigating the turns and twists, and getting through mazes of roots

  4. up and over

    1. small logs, branches and drops

  5. Climbing and descending

    1. shift shift shift

    2. know when to stand and body position

    3. control and conquer

  6. The most important skill?

    1. HAVE FUN




What I love the most about coaching is watching women take on new challenges and as they progress, I see the pride in their eyes, and they stand a little taller, and more confident.


I believe, deeply, that women need to encouraged beyond expectations and boxes, and when we find someone that believes in us, is willing to devote time, energy, and share skills, experience and wisdom, we find that spark ignited that we can conquer, and achieve our goals.
